Announcing Results of Research Study for "Future of Mobile and Wireless Technologies in Healthcare"
Results of International Study to be Released at HIMSS
Santa Clara, Calif. – February 14, 2008 – FinNode, a network of business and technology executives, will release phase 2 of initial market research results from a multi-year international study of the future of mobile and wireless technology solutions in healthcare, as part of the 2008 HIMSS conference.
Interim research results will be announced at an invitation-only breakfast panel event on February 26, from 7:30am - 8:30am, at the Rosen Centre hotel across the street from the HIMSS conference in Orlando, Florida.
The international research project examines ways that healthcare providers are applying wireless and mobile technologies to solve problems and improve quality and efficiencies in healthcare processes. Phases 1 and 2 of the international research study comprised of 230 interviews with hospitals, vendors and research universities in 7 countries. The goal of the research after phase 3 is to give all healthcare providers a 2-year, 5-year and 7-year roadmap for introducing wireless and mobile technology solutions into healthcare systems by fall 2008.
The research is directed by Dr. Esko Alasaarela, adjunct professor and technology advisor at the University of Oulu, Finland. Partners in the research include CITRIS Research Program at the University of California, Health Technology Center, Dongseo University in Korea, and FinNode.
