FinNode Announces Call-for-Entries for Web-2-Mobile Business Plan Competition
Competition Seeks Innovations for the New Mobile Ecosystem;
Winners to be Profiled by Red Herring Magazine and Invited to
Develop Their Technology Inside Nokia Labs
Santa Clara, Calif. – November 6, 2006 – FinNode, a business and technology consortium connecting Silicon Valley companies with partners in Finland and the U.S., announced today the opening call for entries to the Web-2-Mobile Business Plan Competition.
FinNode has teamed up with Red Herring magazine and Nokia to host a business plan competition unlike any others in the Silicon Valley. The Web-2-Mobile Business Plan Competition is seeking entrepreneurs who have innovative ideas about how to harness the power and ubiquity of mobile devices. Competition sponsors are looking for technological improvements or new services that will benefit mobile workforces or accelerate the mobile lifestyle.
Unlike other business plan competitions, winners of the Web-2-Mobile Business Plan Competition will compete for a very unique opportunity: an invitation to visit inside Nokia’s world-famous research labs to develop and test their innovations. Winners also will be profiled by Red Herring and gain valuable exposure before a panel of top-tier venture capitalists and experienced investors.
Entries must be submitted by December 10, 2006. Finalists will be announced on January 2, 2007. Finalists will make presentations to a panel of judges and winners will be selected on January 24, 2007.
