FinNode Announces Finalists in MobileRules! Business Plan Competition
Judging Panel to Select Three Ultimate Winners at Global Networking Event
Santa Clara, Calif. – February 19, 2008 – FinNode, a business and technology consortium connecting Silicon Valley companies with partners in Finland and the U.S., announced today ten finalists to the second annual MobileRules! Business Plan Competition, sponsored by FinNode and Nokia.
MobileRules! is a competition that seeks out technology innovations worldwide that capture the ubiquity of wireless devices to create new value. This year's competitions brought innovations in the areas of proximity-based marketing, mobile social networking, telemedicine, mobile streaming video – even a mobile platform for fashion brands. A team of industry experts and investors carefully evaluated 144 qualified business plan applications from around the world and narrowed the list to 10 finalists. The finalists are:
- Anina DressUp (USA)
- BuzzD (USA)
- Heeb-O (Finland)
- MedApps Remote Monitoring System (USA)
- The Mobile Transaction network (USA)
- Variable Optical Lens for Mobile Phones (Singapore)
- Vidrunner (USA)
- Wishfi (Finland)
- Zygo (United Kingdom)
These ten companies have been invited to San Jose, California to present their business plans before a live judging panel that will select three ultimate winners. There will be an award ceremony and networking party on March 19 at the San Jose New City Hall to celebrate the winners and forge global ties among the many entrepreneurs, investors and media in attendance.
