FinNode’s partner VTT seeks partners globally to co-develop, share risk, and share royalties. VTT also leverages its 2,400 researchers to do public research and contract research in Finland, where R&D costs are substantially lower than in the U.S.

From Research into Business
Commercializing technologies can be tricky business. But FinNode’s International Business Accelerator Center (INBAC) has the experience to guide research insights into commercial success with innovative joint ventures with U.S. partners. Another FinNode partner, VTT, is experienced in creating corporate spin-outs and joint ventures with large U.S. companies, then bringing in the necessary human talent, IP and R&D infrastructure to make the venture successful.

Service Industry
FinNode’s partners in academia are applying service science research and curriculum development to develop IT tools for the service industry and to create innovative service business models.

Innovation Management and Research
Innovation can be ephemeral if not managed. That’s why FinNode aligns with some of the brightest minds around the world to study innovation and apply the lessons learned to a specific geography like the Bay Area. For example, FinNode is involved in a joint project between the University of California at Berkeley and the countries of Denmark and Finland to study ‘Where will the innovation locate in the future.’
