Energy conservation is big business in Finland, FinNode’s native country, where severe winters have forced the construction industry to innovate its building materials and techniques. FinNode has been sharing this expertise internationally via partnerships with Stanford University and others. Specific examples include applying IT solutions to construction engineering (Stanford/CIFE), indoor clean air solutions for Halton, triple-layer window technology and others.

Clean / Green Technology
Clean Tech may be a relatively new phrase in the U.S. but FinNode partners have been working with clean and green energy technologies for decades. Nokian Capacitors, and Neste Oil, which powers municipal buses and waste disposal trucks using its second-generation biodiesel fuel, are two examples of FinNode partners pushing the innovation envelope in clean tech.

Energy Technology
FinNode represents expertise in a variety of technologies that extract efficiencies from energy generation and consumption. For example, FinNode partner Nokian Capacitors is alleviating unnecessary load on the electric utility power grid by decentralizing the delivery of reactive power via locally placed capacitors. Nokian Capacitors is spreading its technology worldwide -- including the U.S. with offices in Houston, Texas.
